FLORIDA’S FOOD-TO-SOIL FUTURE

Food Waste.
Full Circle.

What we throw away can change
what comes next.

We connect Florida businesses with our own state-of-the-art organic composting operation. Food waste is our first priority. We also turn yard debris, clean wood materials, and suitable paper and cardboard into compost for healthier Florida soil.

THE PROBLEM IS BIG. SO IS THE POSSIBILITY.

Too much wasted.
Too little returned.

Food belongs in the cycle of life. Yet most of our discarded food never makes it back to the soil. Together, we can change where that story ends.

106.3M

tons of food wasted

Generated across U.S. manufacturing, retail, food service and households.

50.5M

tons landfilled or burned

40.5 million tons landfilled. Another 10.0 million sent to controlled combustion.

<4%

of wasted food is composted

Less than 4%. A small share today. An enormous opportunity for tomorrow.

Landfill · 38.1%Burned · 9.4%Composted · 3.7%Other pathways · 48.8%
What are the other pathways?

They include ways to recover food, energy and nutrients, as well as wastewater treatment. They are distinct from landfill and combustion.

Anaerobic digestion

16.6%

Organic material is broken down without oxygen to recover biogas and digestate.

Animal feed

14.3%

Suitable food byproducts are used to feed animals.

Donation

6.9%

Wholesome surplus food is redistributed for people to eat.

Land application

5.0%

Organic material is applied to land without first becoming finished compost.

Sewer & wastewater treatment

3.7%

Food goes down drains to wastewater systems; this is separate from landfill disposal.

Bio-based materials & processing

2.3%

Food byproducts become ingredients for other materials and industrial products.

Prevent food waste first. Keep wholesome surplus food available for people. Compost suitable scraps to return organic matter to the soil.

OUR PURPOSE

Less in the landfill.
More life in the land.

Our mission is to transform Florida’s food waste and other compostable organics into compost that restores soil, supports growers and keeps organic resources in use.

At our own composting facility in Brevard County, we process food scraps, yard materials, clean wood residuals and other suitable organics from across Florida. We pair that work with pickup solutions and a commitment to the land we all depend on.
